Hitler was not feckless, he had a consistent worldview, a consistent plan, and the ambition and energy to achieve it. Hitler could genuinely laugh at joke, feel real amusement and make a real smile. Hitler was smart in some ways and had a good memory, could participate usefully in complicated planning sessions and ask cogent questions.
